Cowman - Results & Analysis

I've simply cut and pasted an email thread post-Cowman below detailing our times and improvements from Cowman 2011. There is some detailed and, in the main, more rudimentary analysis, of the triathlon challenge.  Best to read up from the bottom which starts with one of most profound bits of analysis. You will also get a good feel for some of the banter that gets circulated on the 'Disclosure' emails....

And now with run improvements.

One more thing…..

What’s particularly impressive is the improvement from last year especially on the run which in a long tri I think really gives an indication of fitness and ability to stay the course. I’ve added 5mins onto this year’s run times as it was short but there’s still big improvements. On the overall times, there are huge improvements, I haven’t added 5mins here as I reckon the wind was worth about the same.

One interesting point is that if Emily had started last year she would have beaten Will and been breathing down Kirwan’s neck!

Taken a little bit further.

Interestingly, some rudimentary stats analysis of the importance using position finished within the various disciplines as the indicator would suggest that swimming is for show, the bike is for the dough. From this (supported by non-statistical research conducted on the course) the run is purely for misery

Pughy is probably the man to confirm whether or not what I’m saying above is actually true
